Search Engine Optimisation
Search Engine Optimisation
There are two main methods of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), on page and off page SEO.
On page search engine optimisation is ensuring that your content on each page is structured in a way that optimises that page for your chosen key words. This includes entering your key words in your Article Title, Article Headings, Article Paragraph content and Menu Alias. Having your keyword(s) repeated in these areas on each page will have you well on your way to optimising your page for your chosen key words. While not as important for ranking, it is advisable that you also add your key words and a description in the meta data section of each article.
Off page search engine optimisation is achieved in many ways, including obtaining backlinks to your website, adding your website to free and paid directories, getting your business involved in online forums and social networking websites and adding content that links back to your website on You Tube, Slideshare and other such multimedia websites.

Obtain Back Links to Your Site
Try and obtain links to your website from other websites. You might offer a service that compliments the service of another business, and therefore can get a link back to your website. Search engines such as Google will look at the number of links to your website. This is a big factor when ranking the quality of your information, as they assume that the more sites that link to you means the better quality of your content.
